Albert/Queen/Slater/Bronson Reconstruction Project

The Transportation Committee was invited to be part of a Community Working Group for the upcoming Albert/Queen/Slater/Bronson Reconstruction Project. This project will include the rehabilitation of Queen, Albert, and Slater now that the LRT is operational. It will also include the realignment of a portion. As one of a number of community stakeholders, the Transportation Committee’s input will be essential in ensuring that this project helps to make Centretown a more accessible place to live.

Our first meeting was on July 29, 2020. During the course of the meeting, we were given a project overview and were presented with the draft design. A vigorous discussion ensued over the surface of sidewalks, cycle tracks, raised crossings, and pedestrian safety measures. The feedback was well-received by the City and Parsons, and they will continue to update the design. More meetings have been scheduled for the fall, and the CCA will continue to be involved.

The timeline for this project is as follows:

Design completion: Fall 2021

Utilities relocation: Summer/Fall 2021

Construction start: Winter 2022
