Canal and Communities Walking Tour

Who laboured to build the canal?

The "Canal and Communities" tour explores villages that used to sit on the lands now known as Centretown. As well, hear stories of local Indigenous peoples, of the workers who laboured to build the Rideau Canal, and notable figures from local history. The tour is 1.2 kms and approximately one hour.

Tours begin at 11:00 a.m. and depart from the Elgin Street Market at Elgin and Waverley.
