Planning Committee

Chair: Jack Hanna

The CCA’s Planning Committee works for a Centretown that is beautiful and very livable for all citizens.

The Planning Committee welcomes higher population density in Centretown. But higher density must be complemented by green space, trees, shops, recreational facilities, and beautiful buildings. The Planning Committee advocates for all these — and more. It lobbies for improved transit, walking and biking; fewer cars; affordable housing; and climate action.

The Planning Committee frequently meets with developers, city planners and city councillors to critique proposed new buildings. Representatives of the Planning Committee argue for design improvements to make new buildings more beautiful and human-centred.

The Planning Committee organizes gatherings of citizens, including consultations on proposed new buildings, townhall meetings, and pre-election candidates debates.

The Planning Committee takes action and exerts influence for a brighter future for Centretown.
